Mark Andrew Consuelos is a famous American actor. His most well-known roles were Mateo Santos on ABC’s All My Children (1995–2001; 2010) and Hiram Lodge on The CW’s Riverdale (2017–present). Mark Consueloswas born in Zaragoza, Spain.

He is the youngest of three children, with a doctor for a brother and a lawyer for a sister. Consuelos grew up in the United States, first in Lebanon, Illinois, and later in Brandon, Florida. He went to Bloomingdale Senior High School in Valrico, Florida.



Then he went to the University of Notre Dame before transferring to the University of South Florida. He is graduating with a marketing degree in 1994.

Consuelos starred in the instructional series Connect With English. Which was part of the Annenberg/CPB Project and shown on public television channels. 

Consuelos was a performer (dancer) with the Suncoast Calendar Men, based in Clearwater, Florida, in the early 1990s. When he landed the part on All My Children in 1995, he left.

Consuelos had his debut in February 1995, when he was cast in the soap opera All My Children as Mateo Santos. He met his on-screen love interest, Kelly Ripa, there. Then secretly married her in May 1996 in Las Vegas.

Until 2002, Ripa and Consuelos taped episodes of All My Children. when Ripa decided to concentrate on her other job. That was to take over for Kathie Lee Gifford as host of what was then known as Live! with Regis and Kelly. Consuelos appears on the show regularly as a guest co-host.

Consuelos made his feature film debut in The Great Raid.  The film was released in theatres in 2005, since leaving All My Children. In 2006, he played Steve in the films My Super Ex-Girlfriend and Wedding Daze. He starred alongside Vivica A. Fox in the Lifetime series Missing.

He also appeared in the TV show, Ugly Betty. In 2007, Consuelos presented two reality dating shows on NBC, Age of Love and Science of Love. Third Watch, Friends, American Family, Fortune Hunter, SeaQuest, and Hope & Faith all featured him as a guest star.




In the 23rd season of the Oprah Winfrey Show, a weekly live episode featuring Mark Consuelos, Ali Wentworth, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King debuted. The panel addressed the news from the previous week. As well as incidents in the media and on the show.

During the 2009–10 season, Winfrey was the sole host of this program. Fridays Live was canceled after its 25th season.

Consuelos attended the Cop Out premiere in New York in 2010. Where he had a good talk with Bryan Johnson while Walt Flanagan was watching.

Consuelos had a cameo appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode “Justice Denied” in 2012. During Fleet Week, he played Michael, the lead suspect in violent rape.

Consuelos is no stranger to the Law & Order series; he previously appeared as the U.S. Attorney in Law & Order: Criminal Intent’s sixth-season episode “Albatross,” in which he was engaged in a case in which the judge’s life was threatened.

In American Horror Story: Asylum, the second season of the anthology horror series, Consuelos played Spivey, a reoccurring character. Consuelos was cast as Oscar Arguello in a new FOX series, Pitch, in 2016.

Consuelos was cast as Hiram Lodge, a series regular on The CW show Riverdale, in 2017. Starting in the third season, Mark Consuelos’s son, Michael Consuelos, plays a younger Hiram Lodge.

In 1995, Consuelos met his All My Children co-star Kelly Ripa. On May 1, 1996, the two parted ways.   Michael Joseph (born June 2, 1997), Lola Grace (born June 16, 2001), and Joaquin Antonio  (born February 24, 2003) are Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’s children

He married Howard Stern and model/actress Beth Ostrosky. They married at the Le Cirque restaurant in New York City on October 3, 2008. Stern invited Consuelos to officiate because the two couples had grown close. Consuelos agreed, and he took it upon himself to obtain ordination so that Stern and Ostrosky could have an official ceremony.

Consuelos and Ripa lived on Crosby Street in SoHo, Manhattan, for many years. They sold the condo for $20 million in 2015 and moved to an East 76th Street townhouse. They had purchased the home for $27 million from fashion designer Luca Orlandi and his wife, Oluchi Onweagba, in 2013.

Though it was never officially posted on the market, making it the second most expensive townhouse sold in NYC that year.
