Consuelos starred in the instructional series Connect With English. Which was part of the Annenberg/CPB Project and shown on public television channels.
Consuelos was a performer (dancer) with the Suncoast Calendar Men, based in Clearwater, Florida, in the early 1990s. When he landed the part on All My Children in 1995, he left.

He married Howard Stern and model/actress Beth Ostrosky. They married at the Le Cirque restaurant in New York City on October 3, 2008. Stern invited Consuelos to officiate because the two couples had grown close. Consuelos agreed, and he took it upon himself to obtain ordination so that Stern and Ostrosky could have an official ceremony.
