Michael Philip Jagger was born in Dartford, Kent, on July 26, 1943, into a middle-class family. His father, Basil Fanshawe “Joe” Jagger, was a physical education instructor in the United Kingdom who helped popularise basketball. His grandfather, David Ernest Jagger, was a teacher as well.
